Carlton Food Network (known as Taste CFN for a short time) was a British digital television channel, provided by Carlton Television, showing food and cookery programmes. It launched in September 1996, and closed in November 2001. Its sister channels were Carlton Select, Carlton World, Carlton Kids, and Carlton Cinema.

History

It was available on cable and the ITV Digital/ONdigital platform. It showcased the best of Carlton and other ITV companies cookery programmes, and broadcast 24 hours a day after Carlton Select ceased broadcasting in 2000.

On 1 May 2001, Carlton Food Network was renamed as Taste CFN for just a short period, as the channel closed in November 2001, due to poor viewing figures and cost restrictions. On ITV Digital, it was anticipated that the slot was to be filled by a new channel on the now struggling platform, but the space became a preview channel for ITV Digital suppliers and potential customers.
